Petting is Out of the Question

The Komodo dragon is not an ideal pet.

First of all, it’s the largest and heaviest living species of lizard on Earth and can grow up to 3 meters (10 feet) long and weigh around 70 to 90 kg (150 to 200 lbs). So that will blow your dog food budget.

They have specialized venom glands that secrete toxins that lower blood pressure and prevent blood clotting, sending you into shock, and they have large, curved teeth with serrated edges designed to tear flesh. So petting is out of the question.

And walking them is no fun since they can sprint up to 12 mph in short bursts.

So stick with a dog or a cat and just visit these cute dragons at Komodo National Park in Indonesia
